Heather Sandler, DVM
Dr. Heather grew up in Joplin, Mo. She has worked in the veterinary field since she was 15 years old as both a receptionist and veterinary assistant. Dr. Heather got her Bachelor's degree in Science from Missouri Southern State University. She attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she met her future husband Dr. Evan. The Doctors then did a clinical rotation at the University of Illinois School of Veterinary Medicine. Afterward, Dr. Heather and her husband moved to the Mohawk Valley in 2006. She practiced companion animal medicine at Herkimer Veterinary Associates for 6 years before starting Dr. Heather's House Calls then expanding to CNY Veterinary Medical Services with Dr. Evan.
While working at Herkimer, Dr. Heather honed her skills in companions animal medicine. Dr. Heather's areas of special interest include Dermatology, Nutrition, Ophthalmology, Endocrinology, and Dentistry. She has maintained her passion for providing personal, one on one care. Starting Dr. Heather's House Calls has been a long time dream come true.
When not caring for animals, Dr. Heather enjoys spending time with her two wonderful children; her husband,Evan; their cat, Shadow; and the rest of their 2 and 4 legged family. She also enjoys music, photography, and Sci-fi books and movies.
Evan Sandler, DVM
Dr. Evan grew up in Central New York, where he found a love for animals, wildlife and nature. His desire, ever since boyhood was to care for pets. Dr. Evan started his journey at the State University College of Oneonta, where he received his Bachelors Degree, with a Biology major. His journey then took him thousands of miles away to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, in St. Kitts, West Indies, where he his future wife, Dr. Heather.
After years working in separate practices Dr. Evan and Dr. Heather decided it was time to become partners in medicine after being partners in life.
Dr. Evan has specific interests in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Soft Tissue Surgery.
When not at the hospital Dr. Evan enjoys spending time with his two children. He also has a love for baseball, good detective novels and enjoying all that the Upstate New York Area has to offer.
Amanda Shedd, DVM
Dr. Amanda Shedd grew up in, Fairfield, New York, where she developed her love for animals. After becoming a Licenced Veterinary Technician from SUNY Delhi, she knew she wanted to pursue a career as a Veterinarian. She obtained her undergraduate degree from SUNY Oswego. She then earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at St. George's University and completed her clinical training at Cornell University. Her areas of interest are internal medicine, behavior, and dermatology. When not in the clinic, Dr. Shedd enjoys working out, hiking and spending time with her family. Dr. Shedd has one dog, Ginny, who is the true love of her life.

Jenny B., LVT; Practice Manager
Jenny has been a member of our team since we opened in October, 2011. She graduated from Delhi in 1998 and has been a practicing LVT since. Jenny has lived in Upstate New York her whole life. When she is not at work, she enjoys gardening, hiking and swimming. Jenny has a golden retriever, a mini dachshund, and 3 cats that she rescued.

Kassidi N; CVA, Office Manager
Kassidi has been with CNY Vet since January 2022 working as a veterinary assistant and has recently become our office manager. She has 2 cats and 1 chihuhua mix (all who have come in as strays to our clinic). In her spare time she enjoys reading, writing, thrifting, and spending time with her pets.

Nicole joined the team in 2016. She is a graduated from SUNY Canton in 2015, earning her degree and becoming licensed as a veterinary technician. Nicole has one kitty named Thomas. Her favorite hobbies include music, the outdoors, and peace and tranquility.
